Longform Lab Media Group has a simple mission: to change the world.
No, really.
I firmly believe that learning new perspectives, walking a day in someone else's shoes, and expanding your understanding of pressing issues has the power to change the course of history.
But writing is hard! (I would know lol.) That's where the Longform Lab comes in with private lessons, writing coaching, and other editorial services including ghostwriting and editing. And we develop our own projects, too!
If you’re here, you are probably something like me: you have a lot of ideas, excitement, and passion for making the world a better place through storytelling. Maybe you want to write a book or a feature film script, maybe an essay collection or a podcast series. But getting from the shiny new idea to an actual finish product is tough, and requires not only specific skills but also the mental fortitude to resist giving up.
I've been there— more than once. For a long time, I struggled to get past that point, especially with my long-undiagnosed ADHD. Finally, I figured out my own systems for not only my mindset but also my storytelling and writing process. I quit my day job after six years at CNN. I finished and published my first book-- and my second and third-- and built a successful freelance writing career with bylines in VICE, Teen Vogue, The Washington Post, CNN, The Guardian, and plenty more. Now, I'm able to support myself as a full-time writer, and more importantly, see the real-world impact of my work in creating the more equitable and just world I want to see.
Now I'm ready to help others tell stories and change the world, whether that is fiction or nonfiction and for adults or children. The only requirement for ethical writers to work with the Longform Lab is that you're going deeper than a hot take or a quick hit-- that's where longform lab comes in.
So take a look around and see how we can work together. I'm so happy that you are here.
Keep writing!!

At The Longform Lab, we believe that media creation is a collaborative process. We provide guidance that empowers artists to bring their story to life beyond what they may have envisioned on their own.
The Longform Lab is anti-fascist, anti-racist, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-immigrant, pro-disability justice, and invested in artists receiving high compensation for their work.
The Longform Lab puts artists and writers first. We bring industry expertise to developing new projects so that we can prioritize artists’ interests above what they might experience at a traditional media development company. Additionally, all content is human-generated.
