Happy first birthday Longform Lab!

Hi friends! I can’t believe that we are celebrating our one year anniversary. Starting a media company in this day and age is… arguably a little foolish, but I so believe in our mission of sharing stories in order to change the world. And despite the overall environment for media these days, we’ve had a successful first year!

Namely…

  • 15 students have gone through the Longform Lab Incubator, our signature offering
  • 9 of our students had financial assistance or a payment plan, which is important to us as we offer affordable writing education and services to everyone regardless of ability to pay
  • 1 book completed for a client with full editorial support (more details to come!)
  • 8 clients for private lessons and/or editorial support
  • 2 original development projects, both for Trails magazine

Longform Lab’s learning opportunities

Interested in learning with the Longform Lab? There’s a few ways to get involved.

The Longform Lab Incubator is our signature program, taught by me, Nora Neus. It’s for longform writers in all mediums who want a skills refresher, accountability, and mentorship. Through this program, you’ll learn how to write a longform story from beginning to end, including character mapping, story structure, combating writer’s block, and editing exercises. It also comes with two private lessons, a great deal! 

Or you can just sign up for private lessons, which combines mentorship, teaching, coaching, and accountability. It’s our most personalized teaching offering, conducted via a video conference platform. You can choose the topics to focus on, from writing craft to publishing.

Client services

Or do you just want us to do the work for you? Maybe you have a story to tell, but you’ve got a lot on your plate – commitments you can’t drop to retreat to a picturesque cabin to get your story on paper.

Original projects

And finally, the Longform Lab also produces a limited number of original projects for books, audio, film, and television each year. Our goal is to amplify stories that mirror our world’s complexities.
